This is Matisse and Katie, the original kittens that brought about the idea of forming Kitty Haven. They were left on the porch of Parkway Animal Hospital when just days old.
Cold and starving, Cindi took them in for bottle feeding and fostering. The hospital had numerous occasions of kittens left on the door step and rather than send them to the local Humane Society, always decided to take care of them until homes could be found.
Cindi and Stephanie founded Kitty Haven to help the hospital with such abandoned kittens. Officially established in 2001, Kitty Haven has taken in and found lifelong homes for over 800 kittens using the foster system and having only two to four foster homes.
Matisse and Katie were adopted when five months old and are doing great in the home being spoiled as they were as Kitty Haven fosters.
We take in abandoned/orphaned kittens up to four months of age. Many of the kittens we receive are just days old requiring bottle feeding. We are very limited taking in kittens when our few foster homes are bottle feeding. We cannot accept other kittens until the bottle babies are adopted.
We have a soft heart for broken kittens. Kitty Haven has taken in many kittens with broken legs and wounds needing surgical care.
This is Magellan, born June 2, 2010. His name comes from his curiosity to explore new things. Adopted January 2011 by Carl!
